Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru is warning that the Mt Kenya region could remain outside the country’s top leadership for many years if its leaders fail to make strategic political choices. She urged Mt Kenya leaders to rethink their political strategy, warning against relying on an opposition coalition whose unity remains uncertain. Waiguru questioned the opposition’s ability to mount a serious challenge against President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election, citing divisions and competing presidential ambitions.
