Nairobi County has identified 227 flood-prone hotspots across all 17 sub-counties as part of heightened preparations for anticipated rains. Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja says 26 of 61 critical drainage sites have been cleared, while efforts to desilt rivers and remove illegal structures are ongoing. He added that mitigation efforts involving national agencies and the Kenya Red Cross require Sh5.17 billion.
