The Ministry of Health and KEMSA have urged hospital pharmacists and health facilities to take a leading role in managing medical supplies, saying procurement alone cannot end persistent drug shortages. Speaking at a national health conference in Naivasha, Medical Services PS Ouma Oluga said Universal Health Coverage requires data-driven management of health products. KEMSA CEO Waqo Ejersa backed the directive, noting that supply chain reforms must be measured by patient outcomes rather than administrative performance.
