Agriculuture CS Mutahi Kagwe has announced that Kenya is transforming its 70% arid and semi-arid lands into sustainable economic hubs. Speaking at the Rome Water Dialogue, Kagwe outlined plans to construct 50 mega dams, 200 medium-sized dams, and 1,000 reservoirs using National Infrastructure Fund financing. The initiative aims to shift the country from rain-fed agriculture to reliable irrigation and reduce food import costs.
