The government has warned politicians against using goons to disrupt peace and incite violence in Kisumu County, vowing firm action against those found culpable. Speaking in the county after presiding over a county committee meeting, Commissioner Ramadhan Mwabudzo announced an immediate ban on the use of youths to provide security at political rallies, insisting that only authorized security agencies are mandated to maintain order. The directives come amid rising security concerns. On its part, the county government  said it will enhance street lighting across the county as part of a wider strategy to curb crime and improve public safety.
