President William Ruto has announced plans for the national government to take over the management of Kakamega and Garissa referral hospitals, elevating them from Level Five to Level Six facilities. Speaking in Kakamega, Ruto said the national government would fund their operations, allowing the two county governments to redirect resources towards building additional Level Five hospitals.
