The government has intensified the fight against illicit liquor and hard drugs in Kirinyaga County, with security agencies conducting 250 operations since September 28. County Commissioner Shufaa Mwijuma said the operations had led to the seizure of 131 rolls of bhang and 29 litres of illicit liquor, locally known as “Makambo.” Twenty-five suspects have been arrested and arraigned. Mwijuma also raised concern over the harmful effects of alcoholism and substance abuse.
