By the end of this year, 1.3 million students will have enrolled in technical training institutions, up from 300,000 in 2022, President William Ruto has said. Speaking during the graduation of more than 3,700 students whose skills were certified after training at the National Industrial Training Authority NITA, Ruto underscored the role of technical education in driving manufacturing. He urged Kenyans to change their perception of vocational training, citing Germany’s skills development as a key driver of its manufacturing growth.
