Kenyan gospel musician and ordained minister Linet Munyali, professionally known as Size 8, has issued a public message to individuals facing depression and life uncertainties.
Writing to her audience, the singer highlighted the emotional strain of attempting to manage severe personal difficulties alone.
A Direct Appeal to the Distressed
In a statement shared across her social media accounts, Size 8 addressed people who feel overwhelmed by ongoing life challenges. She asked whether her readers were feeling exhausted and unable to hold onto positive thoughts.
"Are you frustrated, at your end, unable to even be hopeful in your thoughts, depressed, trying on your own to keep things together but you can’t?" she wrote.
She noted that people were not created to deal with hardship without support.

Pointing to the Holy Spirit
Size 8 urged those experiencing mental distress to seek help from the Holy Spirit to regain trust, patience, and inner strength. She explained that spiritual support can assist individuals in forgiving others and continuing their daily journey.
"Ask the HOLY SPIRIT to help you now to trust God, to be patient, to be hopeful again, to forgive, to love, to help you keep walking, to strengthen you....." she advised.
The minister offered prayers that her readers would come to experience spiritual guidance directly. She described the Holy Spirit as an active presence in her own day-to-day routine, providing strength beyond her natural abilities.
"He is indeed my comforter , my helper, my teacher and not just in prayer and reading the bible..."
"How I pray for you out there that you may come to know the person THE HOLY SPIRIT......He is indeed my comforter, my helper, my teacher and not just in prayer and reading the bible but in my day to day life, giving me the ability to do that which I cannot do on my on....." she expressed.
Background in Music and Ministry
Size 8 originally rose to prominence in Kenya as a secular pop artist, earning nationwide popularity with hit songs such as "Shamba Boy".
In April 2013, she announced that she had become born again. She rebranded as Size 8 Reborn and crossed over into contemporary gospel music with her breakout release "Mateke".

She has previously disclosed that she battled severe depression at the height of her secular music career, despite receiving high-performance fees and commercial endorsements.
Mental Health Context in Kenya
Her message arrives amidst ongoing national discussions regarding mental healthcare in Kenya.
Data from the Ministry of Health indicates that approximately 25 per cent of primary healthcare outpatients in Kenya experience mental health conditions, with depression and anxiety listed as primary causes.
Furthermore, official clinical guidelines reveal that up to 42 per cent of patients seeking primary medical care suffer from severe depression.
Health agencies estimate that nearly 75 per cent of Kenyans with mental health disorders remain undiagnosed or untreated due to gaps in facility access and staffing.
