Anastasia Mwele, the mother of Shakahola and Kwa Binzaro deaths main suspect Paul Mackenzie, remains in police custody pending her arraignment. Detectives arrested her in Malindi after rescuing eight of her grandchildren aged between six and 14 who were allegedly kept out of school and subjected to prolonged fasting. Mwele faces charges related to child cruelty, torture and denying minors their right to education. Here is Dan Mackenzie, Paul Mackenzie’s son, who alerted the authority.
