The Panel of Experts on Compensation of Victims of Human Rights Violations has approved Sh83.6 million for 259 verified victims under Phase six of its compensation programme for violations from public demonstrations. In a statement today, the Panel led by Makau Mutua said the phase covers harms suffered by civilians and uniformed officers, including severe and minor injuries and economic losses. The panel further urged pending victims to submit their claims through official channels.
