For almost a decade, Bahati and Diana Marua have kept their fans waiting for the day they will finally have their official white wedding.

The couple have been together since 2016 and held a traditional wedding ceremony in 2017. Bahati has since proposed to Diana several times and announced different plans for their much-anticipated white wedding.

With the couple now saying their big day will finally happen on November 6, 2026, here is a look back at the promises that came before it.

December 12, 2023

One of Bahati’s most memorable wedding announcements came in June 2023 when he proposed to Diana for the second time.

After she said yes, the singer announced that December 12 would be their wedding day.
“She said yes, and I officially announce that 12th December is our wedding day,” Bahati announced at the time.

The date, however, came and went without the couple walking down the aisle.

Instead, December 12 became the wedding day of their friends, Director Ritchie and Rena Solomon.

Bahati and Diana had initially said the date was supposed to be theirs before they postponed their ceremony.

“2024 I swear!”

In December 2023, Diana said she could not wait for the day she would officially say “I do” to Bahati and declared that 2024 would be their year.

Bahati backed her up with a confident promise of his own. “2024, I swear!” he responded.

In April 2024, the couple once again discussed when they would officially get married.
Bahati revealed that he had suggested several dates, including December 12 and April 1, but Diana rejected them for different reasons.

He then proposed another option — October 20, their anniversary.

“Can I marry you on October 20, on our anniversary date?” Bahati asked.

Diana, however, wanted him to make the proposal more personal and formally present her with a wedding date.

Later that year, Bahati again teased a wedding date, although the ceremony did not happen.

2025 brought another proposal

In February 2025, Bahati proposed to Diana again, with the content creator accepting while expressing excitement about finally walking down the aisle.

Diana said she was already imagining her wedding gown, her children ushering her in, and the moment she would make a lifetime commitment to Bahati.

She also said Bahati had guaranteed her a grand wedding.
However, the wedding was still postponed.

The couple later explained that other projects, including their Netflix show, had affected their plans. Diana told Mpasho in May 2025 that the wedding was still being planned and that she wanted it to be a glamorous, multi-day affair.

The KSh100 million wedding

By May 2026, Diana was once again asking Bahati why they had been together for almost 10 years without an official white wedding.

Bahati responded with perhaps his biggest promise yet — saying he planned to spend KSh100 million on the ceremony.

Diana reminded him that he had previously told people the wedding would happen, including an October 20 date, and complained that she was beginning to look like the person who was constantly being promised a wedding that never happened.

November 6, 2026 — is this finally it?

On October 7, while celebrating their 10th anniversary, Bahati announced that he was finally ready to make their union official.

This time, he revealed that only 100 people would attend the ceremony, with each invitation reportedly costing KSh1 million.

Diana confirmed the date as November 6, 2026.

“After 10 years together, I hope I have not taken so long,” Bahati told her.
Diana responded that the timing did not matter as long as he was finally ready to make the commitment.

After years of proposals, postponed dates and promises of a grand celebration, the Bahatis now have another date on the calendar.
