No learner should be discriminated against because of their religious beliefs or practices, Education CS Julius Ogamba has warned. He says the Ministry’s directive prohibits schools from banning religious attire such as hijabs and turbans, forcing learners to take religious education subjects, or denying them opportunities to observe prayers and religious rites. He warned that violations will be investigated, with action taken against teachers and Boards of Management found culpable.
