As a way of fighting goonism and illegal gang recruitment in the country, the Inspector-General of Police has instructed Regional Police Commanders to take decisive and lawful action against organised violence and criminal gangs in their areas. Government has also warned that any police officers found facilitating criminal networks or neglecting their duty to intervene will face severe administrative and disciplinary consequences through due process.
