The Ministry of Environment has released the draft National Environment Policy 2026, inviting public participation until October 23. The policy seeks to replace the 2013 framework and strengthen Kenya’s response to climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution and resource management. Principal Secretary Festus Ng’eno says the draft also addresses circular economy initiatives, data protection and artificial intelligence in environmental governance.
