Kenyan club host and content creator Ciggie Johnson has said he could still pay for the schooling of the 12-year-old girl he raised, but only on his own terms. He made the remarks on the Obinna Show Live after a DNA test showed he is not her biological father.

The news became public on Saturday, 3 October 2026, when Ciggie shared an emotional Instagram video of a phone call in which he challenged the child's mother over the test results.

The video spread quickly, and many Kenyans used the comments to ask what would happen next, especially to the child's schooling.

Ciggie's conditions for continuing to support the child

On the Obinna Show, Ciggie made it clear that his answer depended largely on the child's mother.

Asked whether he would keep providing for the girl, he said: "If the mother was nice to me, why not?"

He was openly harsh about the woman. He called her "a bitter pill" and said he could not bear to see her, hear her voice or share any space with her.

Bond, Betrayal and open door

Ciggie admitted that after 12 years there is a bond between him and the child. He argued, however, that it was "created under false pretences", and that he never had a fair chance to love her freely.

He described being pushed into accepting the girl as his own. "I was blackmailed to eat," he said.

In spite of his hard feelings, Ciggie said the child herself could still reach him. "If the child calls me directly, without even her mother's consent, I'll give the child whatever," he said.

He added that if she asked for school fees and called him "sir" instead of "dad", he would not hesitate to help. "I do anything for the child," he said.

"I wanted the child to be mine"

Ciggie confessed that when the DNA results first came back, a part of him had hoped they would show the girl was his. "I wanted the child to be mine," he said quietly, though the tone of the interview soon sharpened again.

He also questioned whether years of closeness can ever be unbreakable. "How many people have you loved and loved not? What happened to the bond?" he asked, arguing that emotional ties do not always outlast betrayal.
