Stakeholders in Elgeyo-Marakwet County have pledged to work together to curb female genital mutilation FGM, saying the practice limits girls’ educational opportunities and future prospects. They urged communities to allow girls to remain in school and pursue their education. Security agencies also pledged to arrest and prosecute individuals involved in the practice, which they described as harmful and outdated.
