Italian emerging star Nabi Kichta has travelled all the way to Nairobi, Kenya, to shoot the music video for his latest release, Sportlife, giving fans a glimpse of the city through his unique global music journey.

Originally from Guinea Conakry, Nabi is one of the promising emerging artists making a name for himself in Italy, with his music taking him far beyond the country's borders.

For his latest project, the singer and rapper chose Nairobi as the backdrop, filming Sportlife in different parts of the city in September 2026.

The Nairobi trip also allowed Nabi to connect with Kenyan talent, including rapper Toxic Lyrikali, with the two artists linking up during the video shoot.

The meeting has sparked possibilities of a potential collaboration, with the two creatives exploring what could come from their connection.

Why Nabi Kichta shoots around the world

Nabi has built an interesting identity around travelling to different parts of the world to shoot his music videos.

Rather than relying on familiar locations, the artist uses his videos to showcase places and experiences that the average Italian may not ordinarily see or know.

His previous video projects have taken him to destinations including Manila, New York, Tirana, Kingston, Varanasi, Rio de Janeiro, Iceland, Guinea and Paris.

Nairobi now joins that growing list.

For Nabi, the locations are more than just backdrops for his music. They form part of the storytelling, allowing audiences to experience different cultures, communities and environments through his visual projects.

From Dandora to Kibera

The Sportlife video was shot across several Nairobi communities, including Dandora, Kibera, Mathare, Pipeline and Kayole.

The production also included a short documentary about Nabi's Nairobi experience, which will give viewers a deeper look at his time in Kenya and the locations featured during the trip.

The project was directed by Diego Ferri, with Fuad Mbigi serving as executive producer and Papa as production assistant.

Federico Hurth handled photography, while MV18Global worked on the behind-the-scenes production. Logistics for the project were handled by Paul.

The production team also acknowledged the communities and locations that supported the shoot, including the Dandora Dumpsite, Kibera, Mathare, Pipeline and Kayole communities.

Nairobi meets Italy

Nabi's meeting with Toxic Lyrikali adds another layer to the Nairobi project, bringing together emerging talent from Italy and Kenya.

While details of a possible collaboration have not yet been announced, their link-up could open the door for a cross-border music project between the two artists.

For now, Nabi is using Sportlife to continue his journey of taking his music beyond Italy while introducing audiences to Nairobi through his eyes.

The Nairobi-shot video and accompanying documentary are expected to give fans a closer look at the artist's Kenyan adventure and the people and places he encountered along the  way.
