Bonfire Adventures managing director Sarah Kabu has revealed that the travel company she co-founded with her former husband, Simon Kabu, is looking for an investor to take over the business.
Sarah made the revelation during a Radio Jambo interview, where she opened up about the state of the company following her highly publicised split from Simon.
According to Sarah, discussions are already underway with potential investors both in Kenya and outside the country.

She explained that the plan is to bring in someone who can help take Bonfire Adventures to the next level.

Sarah also spoke about how her separation from Simon affected the travel company they built together.
She said Bonfire lost some clients because of the couple’s personal fallout, with people from their respective circles choosing to support either her or Simon.

“Tulipoteza wateja kwa sababu sasa walikuwa wamekosa imani na kampuni,” Sarah said.
She, however, maintained that the company managed to recover, adding that some neutral clients continued supporting the business.
Despite the changes, Sarah said Bonfire was still doing well financially.
“It is still doing well; it’s making billions,” she stated.

Bonfire Adventures was founded by Sarah and Simon Kabu and grew from a small travel venture into a recognised tour and travel company.

The company’s official website identifies the two as its founders, saying the business began by organising group trips before expanding into a wider travel agency offering.
Their business relationship has, however, become more complicated following the end of their marriage.
Simon recently confirmed during another Radio Jambo interview that he and Sarah are officially divorced, while the pair have also been involved in disagreements concerning the running of their business.
Sarah’s latest revelation now puts the future of the travel company in focus, with the Bonfire boss saying they are in talks with potential investors who could acquire the business and help steer it into its next chapter.
