Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has given engineers and contractors 14 days to finish critical road and drainage works in flood-prone areas as the city prepares for the expected El Niño rains. He has directed the county's road and drainage teams to prioritise identified flood hotspots, with interventions spread across all 17 sub-counties. The works include drainage improvements, culvert construction, road rehabilitation, new road links, periodic maintenance and upgrades of selected roads to bitumen standard.
