University of Nairobi lecturers convene at the graduation square to begin their strike/EZEKIEL AMING'A
University lecturers today began a nationwide strike over the stalled 2025–2029 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), disrupting learning in public universities across the country.
At the University of Nairobi, lecturers gathered at the Graduation Square as the industrial action took effect.

UASU Secretary General Constantine Wasonga told the media that the union had exhausted what it considered available channels of engagement and would not call off the strike until its demands were addressed.

The union is seeking the negotiation, signing and implementation of the 2025–2029 CBA, with funding provided through the National Exchequer.

It has also rejected a proposed Sh9.76 billion allocation, arguing that the amount is inadequate to fund the four-year agreement.

Wasonga also raised concerns about understaffing, heavy workloads and financial challenges affecting public universities.A section of University of Nairobi lecturers at the graduation square to begin their strike/EZEKIEL AMING'AUASU Secretary General University Staff Constantine Wesonga addresses the media during the start of lecturers' strike/EZEKIEL AMING'AA section of University of Nairobi lecturers convene at the graduation square to begin their strike/EZEKIEL AMING'ATechnical University of Kenya lecturers led by Constantine Wesonga at the graduation square to begin their strike/EZEKIEL AMING'ATechnical University of Kenya lecturers at the graduation square to begin their nationwide strike/EZEKIEL AMING'AA section of University of Nairobi lecturers at the graduation square to begin their nationwide strike/EZEKIEL AMING'AA section of University of Nairobi lecturers at the graduation square to begin their nationwide strike/EZEKIEL AMING'AA section of University of Nairobi lecturers at the graduation square to begin their nationwide strike/EZEKIEL AMING'ATechnical University of Kenya lecturers at the graduation square to begin their nationwide strike/EZEKIEL AMING'A
