Likoni MP Mishi Mboko /FILELikoni MP Mishi Mboko has praised President William Ruto’s physique, saying women like men with a slim and fit build.
Mboko made the remarks while responding to critics who have used different names and descriptions when referring to the President.
“When they insult him, when they gossip and give the President silly titles, even if you call him Kasongo, where has he changed? Even if you call him Ole Chapati, where has he changed?” Mboko said.
She then turned to Ruto’s physique, saying women appreciated men with a fit build.
“Sisi wanawake tunapenda wanaume wa slim-fit. It’s so smart,” Mboko said, drawing laughter from the crowd.
“Look at him,” she added, as she continued praising the President’s appearance.
Mboko described Ruto as “kipenzi chetu, roho yetu” their beloved and the one close to their hearts before shifting to his work and development projects.
She said Ruto had continued working despite criticism, describing him as a President who spends his days and nights visiting projects and interacting with wananchi.
“During the day he is with wananchi at projects, and at night he is still with wananchi at projects,” she said.
Mboko also cited development projects in the Coast region as part of her support for Ruto, mentioning Shimoni Port, developments in Lamu and special economic zone projects.
She said the President had demonstrated what she described as the principles of equity and equality by supporting projects in different parts of the country without discriminating against people based on their blood, colour or tribe.
“The President does not discriminate. He does not choose based on blood, colour or tribe. He has united the whole country through the principles of equity and equality,” Mboko said.
Her remarks came as she backed Ruto’s development record at the Coast and defended the political cooperation between members of the Orange Democratic Movement and the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Mboko recalled the political relationship between Ruto and the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, saying the two leaders had previously worked together in what she described as an effort to promote peace and national unity.
She said the cooperation between Ruto and Odinga had brought political reconciliation after years of rivalry.
“Baba stood with Ruto, and we also stood with Baba,” Mboko said, referring to Odinga.
The Likoni MP further said ODM leaders at the Coast had chosen to work with Ruto because of what she described as development being witnessed in the region.
Mboko has in recent weeks stepped up her support for Ruto, with the MP previously saying the Coast should support the President based on development projects and increased political cooperation.
Her latest remarks came during Ruto’s development tour of the Coast, which included the issuance of title deeds to residents in Kwale.
On September 28, Mboko said the President did not need to spend time campaigning at the Coast, claiming residents were firmly behind him ahead of the 2027 general election.
She cited the issuance of title deeds and projects including Shimoni Port and Dongo Kundu as among the developments she said had strengthened Ruto’s support in the region.
