Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has emerged as the most preferred female candidate for Deputy President, attracting 36 per cent of responses in a new Politrack poll.
According to the survey, People's Liberation Party leader Martha Karua follows with 27 per cent, while Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has 15 per cent.
Nine per cent of respondents declined to state their preference, seven per cent said they were not familiar with the candidates listed, while six per cent selected other candidates.
The female Deputy President findings come from a wider survey that also measured presidential preferences ahead of the 2027 General Election.
President William Ruto led the presidential preference poll with 45.1 per cent of responses, followed by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna at 19.6 per cent and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka at 10.3 per cent.
Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i received 7.2 per cent, while former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua polled 6 per cent.
A further 8.4 per cent of respondents were undecided. Other candidates recorded smaller shares, with Prof George Wajackoyah at 1.1 per cent, while Karua and former Chief Justice David Maraga each received 0.8 per cent.
Siaya Governor James Orengo received 0.4 per cent, while businessman Jimmy Wanjigi polled 0.3 per cent.
The Politrack Research Team survey was conducted between September 15 and 25, 2026, targeting potential voters across the country.
Data was collected through a text-based technology platform, with sampled users invited to participate and respond to questions at their convenience.
A total of 20,419 respondents took part in the survey. Politrack reported a 95 per cent confidence level and a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.
The findings come as political activity intensifies ahead of the 2027 General Election, with presidential hopefuls and political parties stepping up mobilisation and consultations over possible alliances.
Ruto has in recent months taken his development agenda across the country, launching, commissioning and inspecting government projects as his administration prepares for the next phase of its political programme.
Sifuna, meanwhile, has intensified his political activities through the Linda Mwananchi movement and has emerged as one of the figures positioning himself for a possible presidential bid.
