Kenyan celebrity barber Joseph Cutz has mourned Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo after the two never got the chance to meet, despite the barber having hoped to work with him.
Joseph, who has built a reputation for grooming celebrities and prominent personalities, revealed that meeting Chivayo had been one of his ambitions for years.
The barber had recently spoken about his desire to shave the wealthy Zimbabwean businessman, saying it was a dream he had held onto for about eight years.
His wish appeared to be getting closer to reality after Chivayo followed him on Instagram.

However, the two never got the opportunity to meet.
Chivayo died on September 30, 2026, after the helicopter he was travelling in crashed in the Marondera area of Zimbabwe. Six people, including the businessman, died in the accident.
Joseph’s eight-year dream
Joseph had shared his admiration for Chivayo shortly before his death, explaining that he hoped to one day have the businessman in his barber’s chair.
According to Joseph, the goal had remained on his mind for years, and he had hoped that his growing profile would eventually give him the opportunity to meet Chivayo.
That possibility seemed more realistic when Chivayo followed Joseph on Instagram.

The follow became significant to Joseph because it suggested that the Zimbabwean businessman had noticed his work.
But before the planned meeting could happen, news of Chivayo’s death emerged.
Joseph later expressed his heartbreak over losing someone he had hoped to meet and work with.
Chivayo’s death
Chivayo was among six people who died after a helicopter crashed in Marondera, southeast of Zimbabwe’s capital, Harare.

The businessman was known for his lavish lifestyle and frequently shared photographs of luxury cars, helicopters, expensive jewellery and his travels on social media.
His death prompted tributes from people across Zimbabwe and beyond, including Kenyans who had interacted with him or followed his activities online.
The meeting that never happened
After spending years hoping to get an opportunity to shave Chivayo, Joseph finally appeared to have caught the businessman’s attention online.
The Instagram follow came shortly before the accident, creating the possibility that the barber’s long-standing dream could finally become a reality.
That meeting, however, never happened.
Joseph’s tribute therefore focused not only on the loss of a prominent businessman but also on the missed opportunity to fulfil a dream he had carried for years.
