The National Disaster Operations Centre says it is stepping up preparations for anticipated El Niño rains, including prepositioning relief food and mapping flood-prone counties to guide response planning. Data Officer Jesse Ithai says high-risk counties are receiving support through special programmes. Speaking during a meeting organised by RANA Kenya, Ithai said the government is also strengthening coordination with county teams to improve preparedness and minimise the impact of possible flooding.
