Officials led by Lydiah Atambo who chairs the National Conference on Older Persons say geriatrics and gerontology remain underdeveloped, particularly in public health facilities where most older persons seek treatment. They are calling for investment in specialised healthcare personnel to address the growing needs of an ageing population.
