The foundr of Suqoon, an NGO that advocates for the rights of older persons Shakira Khawaja says most elderly Kenyans currently depend on household members for their daily care, despite constitutional provisions safeguarding their rights. They are calling for a universal basic package for long-term care as the country seeks to strengthen support systems for its growing ageing population.
