A majority of MPs have called for the recruitment and proper remuneration of Community Health Promoters, citing their crucial role in strengthening primary healthcare and advancing Universal Health Coverage. The lawmakers urged counties to improve their welfare by ensuring their health insurance contributions are paid and providing them with the resources needed to effectively carry out their duties. Under the current framework,the health officers receive a total monthly stipend of  5,000 shillings  which is jointly funded by both the national government and county governments
