Lamu Governor Issa Timamy has called for local residents to be prioritised in jobs and contracts linked to the Sh2 trillion Dangote oil refinery. Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony, Timamy urged young people to acquire relevant skills to benefit from opportunities created by the project. He also called on the investor and national government to implement measures to safeguard the environment and marine ecosystem once the refinery becomes operational.
