President William Ruto has warned brokers and individuals seeking to benefit irregularly from the planned East Africa Oil Refinery in Lamu, saying they will not be allowed to hijack the investment. Speaking in Kilifi ahead of the refinery’s planned launch tomorrow, Ruto accused some individuals of attempting to interfere with the project, saying similar practices had previously cost Kenya investment opportunities. He insisted the government would protect the project from fraudulent dealings.
