The Kenya National Highways Authority has ordered traders and other occupants to remove illegal structures from road reserves along highways. The directive affects sections of the Likoni-Ukunda-Lunga Lunga, Kilifi-Malindi-Garsen-Witu, Maili Tisa-Kitale and Eldoret-Nyaru roads. KeNHA has given those affected 30 days to vacate the road reserves, with the deadline set for October 29. The authority says the move will pave the way for service road improvements, bus bays and drainage works, while improving road safety and reducing traffic congestion.
