Agriculture CS Mutahi Kagwe has launched Soilfer, a national soil health drive meant to change how Kenyan farmers choose fertiliser. Speaking at KALRO Headquarters in Kabete, he unveiled the National Soil Partnership, the National Soil Laboratory Network and the national rollout of the Global Soil Doctors Programme under the drive. Kagwe said the laboratory network will set common testing standards, while the Soil Doctors programme will train farmers to understand their soils and share that knowledge with neighbours.
