President William Ruto engages with contractors during a tour of the Maungu Economic Stimulus Programme Market construction project in Taita-Taveta county on September 28 / PCS

President William Ruto has commissioned the upgrading to bitumen standards of the Maungu-Kasighau-Rukanga Road Phase I in Taita-Taveta County.

The project is expected to improve transport connectivity and ease the movement of people and goods across the region. The Maungu-Kasighau-Rukanga route is among road projects listed by the Kenya Rural Roads Authority for upgrading to bitumen standards

Ruto also toured the ongoing construction of the Maungu Economic Stimulus Programme Market, where he assessed the progress of the project.
