Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen has called on public officers to change their attitude towards public participation exercises, emphasizing, authentic citizen engagement. Speaking during a lecture on Citizen engagement as a strategic pillar of National Security, Murkomen said meaningful public participation helps detect security tension within the community and identify new forms of crime thus helping government heighten its response. He added that the engagements help reduce resistance towards government initiatives.
