Media personality Steve Thompson Magana, widely known as Oga Obinna, has instructed his legal team to initiate legal action against Nairobi County official Geoffrey Mosiria over alleged defamatory remarks.
A formal demand letter was served on 17th September 2026 by law firm Otieno Ogola & Company Advocates. The notice gave the county official seven days to issue a public apology and pay compensation.
"Siku Saba zili-isha, we proceed. Wengi wenu hamjui Defamation ni nini,na how Lucrative it can be ukishika tu mmoja wao. Wacha niwashow,” Obinna captioned the demand letter posted on his Instagram.

The legal notice accuses Mosiria of circulating a series of defamatory statements on TikTok and other social media platforms during 2026.
The advocates cited a specific video in which Mosiria stated: "My brother Obinna as a brother I think you need to seek Jesus in your life, you need to go to church repent your sins and ask God to keep you away from trouble especially you have associated yourself with two musicians who are celebrities and what followed is unfortunate.”
According to the legal documents, Mosiria's posts falsely linked Obinna to accidents, deaths, suicide, addiction, humiliation, loss of fortune, loss of popularity, and the destruction of guests who appeared on his programmes.
The legal team demanded an immediate retraction across social media platforms, a public apology published in national newspapers, and Ksh 10 million (Kshs 10,000,000) in financial compensation for reputational injury.
"IMMEDIATELY admit liability for the false defamatory statements and settle damages for the reputational injury, distress, embarrassment you have caused to the person and standing of our client and his goodwill in the sum of Kenya Shillings Ten Million" — Otieno Ogola & Company Advocates.
Origin of the Feud: April Boxing Match
The dispute between the two figures stems from a public clash in April 2026 following the "Vurugu Fight Night" boxing event at Kasarani Indoor Arena.
In that match, boxer Majembe defeated Mbavu Destroyer by technical knockout to secure a prize package worth over Ksh 2.5 million, which included Ksh 1 million in cash, a vehicle, and a motorbike.

Obinna refuted the claims, asserting that Mosiriawas making false allegations because he had been denied free tickets to the event. Obinna publicly remarked: "Sometimes before you speak, just stop and think. It's not illegal to think."
Legal Notice Expires
With the mandatory seven-day ultimatum expiring without compliance, Obinna confirmed his intention to proceed with formal court action.
Writing online, the media personality noted that many people do not understand defamation law or how lucrative it can be when pursuing legal remedies.
