Salasya caught up with Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua, in Dallas, Texas, where they were joined by Embakasi North MP James Gakuya and Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru Mejjadonk.
Salasya said he had an opportunity to spend time with Gachagua at his home in rural Dallas, where the former Deputy President hosted Kenyans from different states across the US.

“It was a valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and exchange ideas on Kenya’s future and the opportunities available to transform our country,” he said.
Salasya said he was particularly encouraged by Gachagua's focus on issues including job creation, healthcare, education and economic growth.
“I was particularly encouraged by his strong commitment to addressing some of the key challenges facing Kenyans, including job creation, healthcare, education, and economic growth,” he said.
He described the engagement as an important platform for dialogue and sharing ideas on how Kenyans at home and abroad could contribute to the country's development.
“The evening provided an important platform for dialogue, reflection, and sharing ideas on how we can contribute to building a stronger and more prosperous Kenya,” Salasya added.
Gakuya also highlighted his engagement with Kenyans in Dallas, saying the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss solutions that could be applied in Kenya.
The visit comes as Gachagua continues his engagements with Kenyans in the United States as he positions himself ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The DCP leader has been using the diaspora meetings to discuss his political agenda and engage Kenyans on issues affecting the country, while also speaking about efforts by opposition leaders to build a united political front ahead of the elections.
Gachagua has declared his interest in the 2027 presidential race and has been engaging other opposition leaders on the possibility of settling on a joint presidential candidate to face President William Ruto.
During his US engagements, the former Deputy President has also challenged opposition leaders seeking the presidential ticket to publicly commit to supporting whoever is eventually selected as the coalition's flagbearer.
