Kenyan rapper King Kaka has been spotted out with Roy, the young son of his late househelp, just weeks after the boy lost his mother.
The rapper, born Kennedy Ombima, was seen with the boy alongside his own two children, whom he shares with ex-wife Nana Owiti. Photos of the outing quickly did the rounds online, with many Kenyans praising the gesture.
A grieving boy taken in
Roy is the son of Christine, King Kaka's longtime househelp, who passed away recently. The rapper had earlier paid tribute to her, describing her as more than a domestic worker but a trusted figure who had become part of the family over the years.
Little detail has been made public about the circumstances of Christine's death. What has stood out, though, is how King Kaka has responded to it.
Rather than leaving Roy to grieve away from the family he had grown up around, Kaka included him in what looked like an ordinary family outing, treating him the same as his own children.

Co-parenting that still works
The outing also offered a glimpse into how King Kaka and Nana Owiti have handled life after their separation.
The two, once regarded as one of Kenya's most visible celebrity couples, announced their break-up in late 2024. Since then, both have kept their children at the centre of their arrangement.
Nana Owiti has built her own profile as a media personality and actress, while King Kaka has continued his music career alongside ventures in business and film production, including his Monkey Business series.

Despite the split, the pair have largely avoided public disputes, choosing instead to present a united front when it comes to raising their children. Sightings like this latest one, where the family circle appears to extend beyond blood relations, have only reinforced that image.
King Kaka has not issued an official statement on Roy's living arrangements going forward. For now, the outing stands as a quiet gesture from a public figure known equally for his music and his social commentary.
