Kenyan rapper King Kaka has shown off his newly acquired nganya, revealing that he has spent KSh7.8 million on the customised matatu.

The rapper recently gave former Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa a tour of the flashy vehicle, highlighting the features that make it stand out.

In a video, King Kaka shows Mwendwa around the matatu, pointing out its various modifications.

The nganya has several TV screens installed inside, a heavy music system, and other customised features that have transformed it into a full entertainment machine on wheels.

King Kaka said the matatu cost him KSh7.8 million, highlighting the amount of money that has gone into the project.

From Being Drawn On Matatus To Owning One

For King KakaKaka, the nganya comes with an interesting connection to Kenya’s matatu culture.

At one point in his career, the rapper was among the Kenyan celebrities whose images and names were featured in artwork on matatus.

His face and brand became part of the colourful matatu culture that has for years turned public service vehicles into moving pieces of art.

Today, King Kaka has gone from seeing himself painted on matatus to owning one of his own.

The rapper’s new acquisition also reflects the increasingly elaborate nature of Kenya’s nganya scene, where owners spend millions on sound systems, screens, lighting, interiors and unique body designs.

During his tour with Mwendwa, King Kaka appeared keen to showcase the details of the project, giving fans a look at what their KSh7.8 million investment had produced.
