Allies of President William Ruto in Ukambani have urged former President Uhuru Kenyatta to keep off the 2027 General Election contest. Mwala MP and UDA National Organising Secretary Vincent Kawaya questioned Uhuru’s claim that the late Raila Odinga won the 2022 presidential election, saying the former President should be restrained in his public statements and avoid remarks that could heighten political tensions.
