Police in Kitui County have recovered 48 live rounds of AK-47 ammunition hidden inside pieces of meat aboard a passenger bus. The Zafanana Coach, operated by Northern Cruz Sacco, was intercepted along the Thika–Garissa Highway during a routine security check. Officers discovered the ammunition concealed in a blue carrier bag on the overhead rack. The driver, Samuel Ngui Munyithya, and turnboy Justus Muatha Kiola remain in custody at Kanyonyoo Police Station as investigations continue.
