Kenyan travel content creator Diana Daisy has spoken about her experiences during a two-year journey across 29 countries.

On the Obinna Show Live, hosted by Oga Obinna, the vlogger shared details about her personal choices while travelling abroad.

Strict Personal Vows During Travel

Daisy revealed that she made a firm decision to abstain from alcohol and intimate relationships throughout her travels.

She explained her stance on alcohol during the interview.

"I was very busy, but also I had my purpose. I promised myself I'm never going to drink. Actually, you must sacrifice. The biggest sacrifice that I had to give on myself, I said I don’t want to drink," Daisy stated.

She also explained her reasons for avoiding sexual involvement while on the road.

“I said I’m not going to sleep around, because sleeping around sometimes can attract bad things. So, I said, God I’m going to submit my body because whatever that I was doing, I was doing it for God

Daisy confirmed on the programme that she has maintained personal celibacy.

"I've been celibate for the last one year," she noted.

Journey Across 29 Nations

Daisy marked exactly two years of continuous travel on 21 September 2024. During this time, she visited 29 countries. Her ultimate target is to visit all 197 recognised nations in the world.

She hails from Kirinyaga County in Kenya. She noted that she is the first-born in her family and clan to fly abroad.

Her international journey began after touring East African nations, including Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Malawi. She later flew to India with a budget of just $700.

From India, she expanded her itinerary to Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and several Pacific island nations in Oceania. These included Tuvalu, Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, and Timor-Leste. While discussing Tuvalu, she noted its small population of 11,000 people.

Overcoming Travel Hardships and Building a Business

During her travels, Daisy faced financial and physical challenges.

In the early stages of her trip, she shot videos using a borrowed GoPro camera and edited content on her mobile phone.

While visiting a village, she suffered a foot injury in a motorbike accident. She required 13 stitches, which were performed without anaesthesia.

In addition to creating vlog content, Daisy established a travel agency named Ecla Adventures. She revealed that she has curated trips for over 300 clients, organising solo, group, and luxury itineraries.
