Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to hand over his role as chairman of the Azimio la Umoja coalition to Siaya Governor James Orengo following changes in the coalition’s leadership. Sources say Uhuru handed over the mantle to Orengo after a meeting of the coalition’s top leadership yesterday. The changes come after Azimio rebranded as the Ukombozi Alliance, with member parties agreeing to adopt the new name and initially placing Uhuru as its chairman.
