Kenya is set to accelerate the extension of the SGR from Naivasha to Kisumu and Malaba following renewed talks with Chinese partners. Writing on his X account after attending the 2026 Financial Street Forum, Transport CS Davis Chirchir confirmed that Kenya will deepen cooperation with China and EXIM Bank through public-private partnerships to modernize transport infrastructure, enhance regional trade and unlock long-term economic growth.
