Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson has intensified preparations for anticipated El Niño rains, deploying additional earth-moving machines to flood hotspots across the city. Sakaja inspected drainage works along the KIRDI-Bellevue corridor to Mombasa Road, where teams are widening, deepening and desilting channels. The operation brings together county agencies, KURA, KeNHA, KeRRA, Kenya Red Cross and the Nairobi Rivers Commission to improve stormwater management.
