Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has held the final meeting ahead of the groundbreaking of the East Africa Refinery in Lamu. Kindiki said the project will make Kenya and East Africa a major petrochemical hub and energy logistics centre. He said it will also create jobs, boost the Coast economy and support Kenya’s industrialisation. President William Ruto also met Dangote Industries CEO Aliko Dangote and Africa Finance Corporation CEO Samaila Zubairu in New York to discuss financing and preparations for the project.
