Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has hit back at his successor, William Ruto, for labelling him as a rebel leader. Speaking earlier in the day, Uhuru criticised Ruto for propagating retrogressive politics, saying he has never instructed anyone to engage in violence. He maintained that he has a right to freedom of expression and association. Uhuru also dismissed claims that he is sponsoring opposition political parties ahead of the 2027 General Election.
