A Mombasa-based human rights defender has been granted an 800,000-shilling bond after being charged with trafficking two minors for sexual exploitation. Caleb Ngwena appeared before the Shanzu Law Courts and denied charges of trafficking, defilement and committing indecent acts with children. The prosecution alleges that he transferred two minors, aged 16 and 17, from Mombasa to Kiambu in August for purposes of sexual exploitation. The case will be mentioned on October 1 for pre-trial directions.
