Former Kenyan international rugby player and self-taught chef Dennis Ombachi has issued a direct warning to internet trolls on his social media pages.

Known online as "The Roaming Chef", Ombachi addressed followers who leave abusive comments under his posts. He declared that he will no longer engage in online arguments with abusive commentators. Instead, he plans to hold their parents accountable.

A New Approach to Online Trolls

Ombachi made his position clear in a public statement regarding online behaviour.

He wrote: "It's not my job to correct what your parents failed to teach you."

He explained his new strategy for dealing with abusive comments.

"If you come under my posts throwing profanities around for attention, I'm not arguing with you. I'm looking for your parents, whop their ass and make you apologize."

The former athlete added a warning regarding physical size.

"If you think you're bigger bulky than me, then hope your parents can fight".

From Rugby Sevens to Culinary Stardom

Ombachi built his initial public profile as a winger and forward for the Kenya Sevens national rugby team.

He represented Kenya at the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Russia and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. In November 2015, Ombachi scored a decisive last-minute try against Zimbabwe. That score secured Kenya's qualification for the 2016 Olympic Games.

Today, Ombachi commands over 1.6 million followers on Instagram. In 2022, he won the TikTok Top Creator Award for Sub-Saharan Africa. In May 2024, he hosted French President Emmanuel Macron on his Nairobi balcony to prepare traditional Kenyan food.
