DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua has dismissed the elders who endorsed Deputy President Kithure Kindiki as Mt Kenya region spokesperson, describing them as fake elders. Speaking in the US, Gachagua claimed the elders had gathered after an alleged attempt to divide the Mt Kenya region into two blocs, Mt Kenya East and Mt Kenya West, had failed. He claimed some elders told him they had been brought to the meeting without understanding its purpose and were given Sh3,000 to return home.
