Police in Garissa have arrested a man accused of defrauding M-Pesa shop attendants.

Police say the suspect posed as a Safaricom agent and offered a line upgrade to an attendant in Bulla Hodhan.

The suspect allegedly swapped the attendant’s SIM card and transferred money to another account.

Police recovered several SIM cards, four mobile phones and two SIM registration devices. The suspect is being held pending arraignment.
